MAKE A DIFFERENCE THIS WINTER

SAMARITAN PROJECT

You can support this years Samaritan project  in the following ways:

Clothing items
Winter blankets (in yellow bin)
Soup kitchen
Non-perishable food items

Or sign up to volunteer in our various Winter Appeal Projects in the foyer of church on Sunday.

BLANKET & BUCKET BASH

In the local Bryanston area this winter, we are collecting nonperishable food items for distribution to families in need in the Soweto area. Feel free to bring things like: pap, rice, samp, soya mince to church on Sunday or donate directly towards this cause.

Blankets, Beanies & Be-Kind

Show some love to your City as we reach into our local community and make a difference by collecting beanies and blankets for distribution to the homeless during the cold winter months. You can make the difference by bringing items to church or contributing financially. During the cold winter months, you can also purchase a Care/Shelter Voucher, which will help someone buy some food or have access to a shelter.

STREET STORE Project

Bring your surplus warm clothes, shoes & apparel for children & adults to church as we collect stock for our upcoming street store project. Street Stores allow the local community some much needed access to winter essentials to get them through the colder months.

BLANKET & BUCKET BASH

This winter, we’re rallying together as the Hillsong Century City community for something we’re calling the Blanket & Bucket Bash!

We’re inviting each of you to help meet real needs with real love; one blanket, one bucket, one family at a time. Through this initiative, we’ll be collecting essential winter items and food hampers for the families of Ysterplaat Junior Primary and other local community partners.

You can be part of it by purchasing a hamper at the Local Impact desk in the foyer or contributing financially.

THREE OPTIONS:
Small Hamper – R300
Medium Hamper – R780
Large Hamper – R930
***Any amount is welcome to go towards the cause.

MES & NEW LIFE CENTRE

The Hillsong community of Durbanville are proud to be partnering with two amazing local NPOs this year. We are collecting stock for the MES foodbank, and we would love to bless our friends at New Life Centre (a centre for women and girls in crisis pregnancies) with warm blankets and pyjamas for the cold winter months. Bring your items to church for drop off, and partner with us financially.

Mattress Matters

As part of our Local Impact efforts this winter, we are partnering with Emkhondweni Educare Centre, an early childhood development centre located in the township, to meet one of their most urgent needs — safe and comfortable sleeping arrangements for the children in their care. The centre currently supports around 120 children, many of whom rely on old, worn-out mattresses that have deteriorated over time.

To respond to this need, our church is launching a Winter Appeal with the goal of donating at least 30 brand new waterproof mattresses to Emkhondweni by end of June 2025. Each mattress costs R250, and we are believing that through the generosity of our congregation and community, we can meet — and even exceed — this goal. This initiative is more than just about mattresses; it’s about restoring dignity, showing the love of Christ, and creating a safe and nurturing environment for the next generation.

HAVEN SHELTER, HANDS & FEET ECD
This Winter, we invite our church family to get involved with our local impact.  You can support in the following ways:

  • Donate blankets or non-perishable food items
  • Purchase a voucher or make a monetary contribution

Let’s be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.

soup kitchen & blankets

The Paarl family unites this winter season to collect food items for a community soup kitchen & blankets for the homeless. You can help make a difference to someone in need by bringing something towards a warm meal or a blanket-type item for someone most in need of it.

Blankets and Warm clothes

Winter is sometimes a hard season to get through at the best of times – but but imagine it without warm clothing items and the warmth of a blanket. Join hands with the Somerset West family to get winter warmers into the hands who otherwise might not be staying warm this winter.

sOUP HANDOUT

As a church family, we are going to bless the Dunoon Educare with delicious soup and you can sponsor a soup container for as little as R20. Our aim is to bless them with 100 soup containers
